1) Look at the picture and listen to Topic 32, My Working Day 2-3 times.
- Listen and read the text now. Stop the recording after each sentence and try to imitate the native speaker.
There
are five working days in a week. I work eight hours a day. Work
starts at 8 and finishes at 5 o’clock. I come home at 6 o’clock.
My working day is long and tiring. There is always a lot of work. I
phone our clients and answer the phone calls. I also type price lists
and do other office work. The lunch break is from 1 to 2 p.m. I can
have short coffee breaks, too. I have a comfortable working space.
There are five people in the office. We usually meet at the end of
the day. We discuss our results then. The meeting is starting now.

4) Listen to the dialogue and the three stories, the three summaries of the conversation, without reading the texts. Listen 2-3 times. After that listen to the dialogue and the summaries again looking at the texts and check whether you could understand all the details or not.

Well, what is your routine on Mondays?

I get up at five o’clock in the morning.

That’s very early in the morning!

If you are a
student and have to earn extra money, your daily routine can be very
busy. The young person from this conversation seems to be in that
position. Every Monday he gets up at five o’clock in the morning
because he has to be at Eddie’s Diner at six o’clock. He washes
dishes there until two o’clock. Then he goes home and sleeps for an
hour. After that he rides his bike in the park. In the evening he has
dinner with his friends and then goes to his Spanish class. He tells
his friend that sometimes he likes being so busy and sometimes he
doesn’t.- Read the dialogue and the summaries yourself recording your voice. Then listen to the original texts and to your voice sentence by sentence.
- Training 1. Answer the questions. Read the first question and answer it, then read the second... and so on.
- Now just look at the questions and answer them one by one. Do it 2-3 times. Try not to stop after each question.
- Say the text of Training 1 without looking at the text. Record your voice and compare your story with the story in the book.
- Training 2. Do the same with Training 2.
- Training 3. Read the summary 2-3 times. You don't have to memorise it now.
5) Revise Training N29, N30, N31 in Past Simple.

Tom went to school but he didn’t like school very much because he

computer and the computer didn’t like Helga. Whenever Helga tried
to use the computer, it refused to work. However, the computer never
refused to work for the assistant. They adored each other.
