1) Listen to the dialogue and the three stories, the three summaries of the conversation, without reading the texts. Listen 2-3 times. After that listen to the dialogue and the summaries again looking at the texts and check whether you could understand all the details or not.

What’s your favourite holiday?
Bob:
Well, that depends. I like any that gives me a long time off
school.
Tim:
The longest break is summer, but that doesn’t count because it’s
not for a holiday. But really, which holiday do you like best?
Bob:
I guess Easter is my favourite, because I really like hunting for
Easter eggs. My whole family makes Easter eggs and
hides
them, then all the children look for them.
Tim:
That sounds fun. But I prefer New Year’s Eve.
Bob:
That’s a strange choice.

Bob’s

- Read the dialogue and the summaries yourself recording your voice. Then listen to the original texts and to your voice sentence by sentence.
- Training 1. Answer the questions. Read the first question and answer it, then read the second... and so on.
- Now just look at the questions and answer them one by one. Do it 2-3 times. Try not to stop after each question.
- Say the text of Training 1 without looking at the text. Record your voice and compare your story with the story in the book.
- Training 2. Do the same with Training 2.
- Training 3. Read the summary 2-3 times. You don't have to memorise it now.
2) Listen to Topic 41, Public Holidays 2-3 times.
- Listen and read the text now. Stop the recording after each sentence and try to imitate the native speaker.
We
haven’t got many public holidays. We have got about eight of them.

20, October 23, Christmas and Easter are public holidays in Hungary.
They are days-off. We don’t work then. People stay at home with
their families. They can travel or go hiking. They can visit their
relatives. There are often fireworks on holidays. Children like them.
Christmas and Easter are my favourite holidays. There are some old
Christmas and Easter traditions. We give each other nice presents at
Christmas. We paint eggs at Easter. Christmas is coming now!
